hello! I'm Makenzie!
I'm a wedding photographer and stationary designer in Western Kentucky. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog! This is where you can see my latest shoots & weddings, get some advice, or see what it's like behind the scenes! I hope you stay awhile.
Chelsey had a big vision for her day and to say it came together and was breathtaking would be an understatement! Their day started at the 1857 Hotel where the girls were getting hair and make up done. The weather forecast was calling for rain all day, so luckily the hotel was right next door to the Carson Center. We moved across the street to Carson for their first look on the grand staircase and stayed inside for the rest of the day.
Their day was filled with dramatic statements and big surprises! Their ceremony was held in front of the big stage curtain, so what guests didn’t know was the reception was set up beautifully behind the curtain with a live band waiting. After Corbin & Chelsey were pronounced husband and wife, they immediately did their first dance on the stage. Once they exited, they snuck down to the orchestra pit for a surprise grand entrance. The hidden band began to play while the curtain raised and at the same time the orchestra pit staging started to rise with Corbin & Chelsey standing on it with champagne glasses in hand! It was definitely a GRAND entrance!
Once the party got started, we had a brief “intermission” due to tornado warnings, but everyone stayed calm and the party resumed quickly…and when I say party, I mean every single person there was enjoying the night. The dance floor was full, the bar stayed busy, the band was rocking, and everyone was having a blast! After the band’s last song, Chelsey & Corbin exited to fake snow and a horse and carriage. Luckily the storms had passed and the night ended perfect!
Everyone was in awe of amazing Chelsey looked!
We headed across the street and met Corbin for the first look!
Checking her man out!
They had a live painter during the ceremony & reception! So cool!
After their first dance, they exited and snuck down to the orchestra pit. The live band was hiding behind the curtain and they began to play. The staging Corbin & Chelsey were standing on began to rise and they surprised everyone!
We took a few more pictures while everyone moved from their seats to the stage for the reception.
The reception was set up behind the curtain and it looked beautiful! Courtney, with All Things Prim & Proper, did an amazing job…as always!
Since Corbin is a dentist and Chelsey is an eye doctor, their favors were toothbrushes wrapped in an glasses cleaning cloth! And look at that cake!!
